Wave 2 Shipping Update

As we’re sure you can imagine, we’ve been pretty busy working on getting all the Wave 2 product manufactured and shipped around the world. Sadly, despite our best efforts, some of our expected dates haven’t been met by our manufacturing partners which has led to an unavoidable delay in some of the expansions. This means we’re faced with a big decision:
a) Hold all Wave 2 product until the final boat arrives and then send out in one-hit to everyone
b) Send Wave 2 products in batches immediately upon arrival at our distribution hubs
Obviously, neither option is ideal, each with it’s own downsides so we’re between a rock and hard place. Upon serious reflection, we feel that option b) is the best course of action to start getting the games to the majority of backers as quickly as possible.
This decision now means that shipping to backers from our hubs starts from Monday in the following territories if a backer has ordered any combination of the following product(s):
UK/RoW – Darkroot Basin and/or Extra Dice.
US – Darkroot Expansion, Aslyum Demon and/or Extra Dice.

Our current best estimate is that all territories will have all products at the hubs and out for shipment to backers by the 10th September 2018 – completing Wave 2 delivery for all backers.
Vordt + Tile Set
Upon receiving our Wave 2 products we noticed that a lot of Vordt’s were broken in transit. Although this can occasionally happen (we allow for breakages) the frequency of faults found meant it caused a major concern point for us. The fault is due to the vacuum-form tray that had been made for the model being too loose and allowed the piece to shake, rattle and break into pieces whilst in transit.
We therefore requested additional samples to be sent in order to confirm the failure rate and the problem was occurring far too frequently - clearly unacceptable. We have been working with our manufacturers to re-tool the vacuum-form tray to better secure the model. Although we had hoped we could get this on the last boat of Wave 2 unfortunately this will not be the case and so Vordt will now be arriving with Wave 3.
The tile set is also unfortunately still going through the approval process with BANDAI NAMCO. Obviously its vital to ensure the IP holders are fully happy with what we produce for the consumer and as such the tileset will also be pushed to Wave 3 to allow for the approval process to complete.
So where are we at with Wave 3? Well, its pretty clear to us (and to you) that the above issues will have knock-on impact on Wave 3 delivery. At this stage, it feels completely unavoidable. The original quotes and length of production estimates supplied by our manufacturing partners were simply too short for a project of this size. The sheer volumes involved are huge and so we are currently deep in talks with our manufacturing partners to update the delivery roadmap.
We do not want to guess as to what the timeline now looks like until we have been to China and thrashed this out with the team over there. We will come back to you all with a roadmap we can all believe in as soon as possible.
How will my order be affected if I had Vordt/and or the tiles included?
We will simply remove those items from Wave 2 (shifting them to Wave 3 fulfilment) and send the rest of your items as normal. For example, if you ordered Vordt and the Darkroot Expansion we would send you the Darkroot Expansion immediately followed by Vordt in Wave 3.
When will you update us on Wave 3 shipping?
As we did with the last major shipping update, we want to get all the facts before we confirm anything. Even with all our pre-planning we have experienced slippage with wave 2 and we do not like passing on information that turns out to be incorrect – it feels real bad and helps no one for us to guess.
How long does it take to get from a hub to my house?
We have ensured with Wave 2 delivery as best we can that all products will have the shortest route to arrive at their destination. It would be impossible for us to say due to the variety of locations and hubs around the world so we cannot give an accurate estimate until the product leaves the hubs.
Does this affect the retail bosses?
No, retail bosses will be shipped separately from Wave 2/3 content as previously discussed and retailers will be informed when these are ready directly.
